Gain IT skills and experience with training provided by Belfast Met, Northern Ireland's Designated Digital IT Curriculum Hub! We have 40-60 IT Apprenticeship roles available with a wide range of employers.
Successful applicants will be employed in one of the participating companies and receive "on-the-job" training from Belfast Met.
- Level 3 IT Apprenticeship (Digital Forensics, Networking & Infrastructure Software Development)
- Level 5 IT Higher Level Apprenticeship (Cyber Security & Networking Infrastructure Software, Cloud & Application Development)
- Level 6 IT Higher Level Apprenticeship
Apprentices will be employed in various sectors covering a variety of areas depending on Pathway in areas such as Infrastructure, Software Development, Cyber Security & Cloud and Application and Data Analytics roles with the firms investing in their training to enable them to gain a Level 3 or 5 qualifications (depending on program) and beyond.
Entry Requirements
Level 3 Apprenticeships
Experience is not required but applicants must possess a minimum of:
- 5 GCSE's at grade c or above, including English and Mathematics
Some employers will also require AS or A-Level or equivalent qualifications. For more information on the program please click here
Level 5 Apprenticeships (HLA)
The minimum entry requirements for the HLA program are:
- 160 UCAS points or 64 tariff points
- 5 GCSE's at grade c or above, including English and Mathematics, or equivalent qualifications, such as Level 2 Essential Skills in Maths and English

Belfast Met Bootcamp | For applicants who have passed and obtain employment with a recruiting employer, all boot camps begin 17 November 2021 |
Please note if you have applied for the IT Apprenticeship in previous years, you are required to complete a NEW application this year. ANY previous applications WILL NOT be considered. You will be asked to undertake an online aptitude test before the closing date on 20th August, any assessments completed after this time will not be considered.
